This one gets a lot of play on my gaming table. I have found it's a good opener especially for the TGOO|Designer\German Game uninitiated.
The cons to this game are the elimination element and the 'rich get richer' element - it's very hard to beat a guy who has half the dice!
A superb game because of it's simplicity and speed. I am not familiar with the board game but this game has been played in the serious gaming/gambling community for some time now. I have heard that it originated in California and also New Orleans. Chances are that this game is considerably older than we belive it to be. In time this game will become considerably more mainstream and indeed could become a staple of serious and amiture gamers alike. Try playing this game for money. Also, for all those poker players out there this game is the perfect practice for picking up on tells.
If you'd like to hear an interview with the "designer" (Richard Borg), you can check out this very recent interview with Tom Vasel on The Dice Tower podcast.
