#93: Domaine
No one's going to be surprised when Klaus Teuber comes in pretty high (you guess how high) with his classic Settlers of Catan. But a number of folks will be stunned to see Domaine in the countdown. This re-thinking of Lowenherz enters the list at #93.
Brian Leet: "I like that it's elegant, quick playing, and full of angst."

Some time back, a new gamer started coming to my game group. he was very enthusiastic and learned a lot of new games. He decided to buy a game, and after careful consideratiojn made his first game purchase, Domaine. Great choice, we play if frequently ever since.
Meanwhile, my copy of Lowenherz has never made it to the table.
I'm not stunned at all. While not up to the brilliance of Lowenherz, Domaine is a fine design and represents a very good job of reworking by Teuber.
When our gaming group first organized, this was the game that they all wanted to play. I still love it 3 years later - full of angst, yet simple, and elegant. To "attack" oriented to suit some of our current gaming group, but still hits a sweet spot for me.
